Earlier this year Chamberlain received designation as Grand Master and the rank of 10th degree black belt at the Kenpo International Hall of Fame.

House member Sheets has two children who take classes at Chamberlain Studios (the children of United States congressman Pete Sessions and congressman Jeb Hensarling also take classes at Chamberlain Studios), so during the Chamberlain Studios Christmas party, Sheets surprised Chamberlain with a personal presentation to honor his accomplishments.

Sheets presented Chamberlain with a letter of resolution, in which Sheets states “Chamberlain is setting an inspiring example for others,” and a Texas Flag that was flown above the Capitol of Texas.

Chamberlain has been learning martial arts since he was in high school. When he moved to Dallas to go to chiropractic school, he immediately began teaching martial arts and self-defense classes. He established Chamberlain Studios and over the years continued to grow the business. Today hundreds of children and adults in the Dallas area learn martial arts and self-defense from Chamberlain Studios, including more than 200 students in East Dallas alone.

But despite his personal accomplishments, he credits the success of the studio to his staff.

“It was nice that I got the award, but the success that that’s based on is the group of instructors that we have that teach in Dallas and Lakewood,” he says. “I’m the figurehead, but it’s their hard work that’s responsible.”
