One person is dead following a one-vehicle accident on Peavy Road.

The Dallas Police Department responded to a call from Dallas Fire-Rescue around 5:35 a.m. Sunday about a vehicle accident in the 2000 block of Peavy, police said.

The vehicle left the road, turned over, caught fire and landed in the creek bed, police said. The driver, who was still in the vehicle, died at the scene.

Dallas police have not identified the driver.

This is at least the second single-car incident in East Dallas that has resulted in a death in the past few weeks. On April 11, one person died in a crash near Garland Road and Breezewood Lane.
