For more than 21 years, Cherrilane Blackburn taught ballet, tap and jazz to aspiring young dancers in her Lakewood studio.

Sitting with Charles Heard and Sherry Childress in the front room of their neighborhood home, it’s easy to see the two are passionate about certain things.

“It is theirs. It is totally created by them,” Lakewood Elementary School teacher Karen Kimball says. “We’re there to direct and guide.”

But this year, music teacher Sean Morrison and theater teacher John Beaird chose to test the limits and talents of their students even further.

The group of sophomores, juniors and seniors were chosen to participate in the 2005 Holy Week celebrations.
