Zaap Kitchen Lao & Thai Street Eats opened its second location in the Casa Linda Plaza in early June. The location has a larger area to dine in, but because of the increasing number of coronavirus cases, Zaap announced it will close the dining room and serve takeout and delivery through ChowNow.
The original location at 6107 Greenville Ave. was founded in 2018 by owner Tony Singharaj and his wife, who brought Laotian food to the neighborhood.
Zaap Kitchen in the Casa Linda Plaza is located at 1152 N. Buckner Blvd. It is open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Rapscallion at 2023 Greenville Ave. has also shut down its dining room again out of an abundance of caution.
Owner Brooks Anderson, who also owns Boulevardier in Bishop Arts and Hillside Tavern in the Hillside Village Shopping Center, said he restaurants will reopen will coronavirus cases begin to subside.
“The health of our staff and patrons is all that matters, and on that basis alone, we simply cannot continue to operate in the current climate,” he said on Facebook.
The Goldrush Cafe at 1913 Skillman St. closed its dining room June 25 and returned to serving takeout meals only.
“The safety of our family, which is our employees, is what we value most,” one of the family owners Max Sanchez said. “We thank all our loyal customers for their support and hope everyone stays safe during this time.”
Bangkok Inn at 6033 Oram St. has also reverted to curbside pickup only to keep employees, family and the neighborhood safe during the health crisis.
