Even if you’re not into fishing, or doing so at our neighborhood pond, influencer Ryan “Rigged” Rodriguez — who has about 14k YouTube subscribers and 57k followers on Tik Tok — made some beautiful White Rock Lake scenes, including overhead drone shots and even semi-underwater views.

The 14 minute video shows him catching his first fish, a nice-sized catfish, “within 30 miniutes” on a corn mixture. After that he brings in a bigger catfish with his Jello mix, followed by an even longer catfish with the same bait.

For his denouement, with corn, Mr. Rigged catches a hefty smallmouth buffalo, which is quite a beautiful fish, and concludes that both of his bait concoctions are effective.

You’ll have to watch the video to see how Rodriguez mixed the bait in a way that sticks to the lure, because I cannot explain it. I’m not a scientist.

The show includes a baby turtle, an adorable dog and a family that stops to rub the pup’s belly.

According to Texas Parks and Wildlife, the predominant fish species at White Rock Lake are channel catfish, largemouth bass and white crappie.
