My wife doesn’t like sports much, but she puts up with it because there are three other people in the family who do. But sometimes ESPN does a story that means something even to people who don’t care anything about sports. For example, the media group recently broadcast a video about a boy who could see out of only one eye who was facing surgery that would rob him of the sight in his other eye. The boy’s last wish — the last thing he wanted to see — was the USC football team.

And Sunday, ESPN did a similar story about Woodrow’s own Sergio Kindle and his inspiration: Will Winters, a classmate who died while Kindle was attending the high school. Winters was the son of neighborhood resident Willis Winters, one of the city’s lead parks department employees, and his wife Jan. Be forewarned: This video is inspirational and likely to bring forth a tear or two, whether you care about football or not.
