Director John Beaird’s adaptation of “Grease” for the Woodrow spring musical puts Rydell High in Lakewood.

Professional set designer Diana Goldberg helped the crew create sets that include Burger House, Lakewood Park and the corner of Skillman and La Vista, among other Lakewood locations. A recreation of the Woodrow Wilson High School facade will represent Rydell.

Vicky Thompson of Lakewood designed the costumes: skirts, black-leather jackets, penny loafers and satin jackets. Vicky Squires is the choreographer.

The cast includes Anna Sekhon as Sandy, Sam Shearin as Danny, Amelia McBrayer as Rizzo and Burt Merino as Kenickie.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. April 14-16 and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 17.

This production of “Grease” is based on the 1971 Broadway play, not the 1978 movie starring John Travolta. But if you have a hankering for the musical stylings of Travolta and Olivia Newton John, “Grease” the movie is screening in Oak Cliff this weekend. The Women’s Chorus of Dallas presents a “Grease” sing-along at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Kessler Theater. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students with ID.
