Woodrow Wilson High School seniors Jessica Lopez and Emalie Price will appear on School Zone Dallas on WFAA-Channel 8 Wednesday, April 16, at 6:30 pm.
Lopez and Price are reporters on the program. School Zone Dallas focuses on news and people associated with DISD. The reporters were among 10 students selected to appear on the program, which is the first television show produced by a Texas school district to win an Emmy and is overseen by neighborhood resident and DISD spokesman Jon Dahlander. The reporters and anchors for the show are chosen after a open-call tryout among interested DISD juniors and seniors each spring.
Price’s father, Keith, recently published a book, "The Odyssey and the Idiot", which is available on Amazon. The book, which has received some good reviews on Amazon, is about Price’s journey across the United States with his then pre-teen children Emalie and Alex, and what they learn about each other on the trip.
