The teacher, Jessica Martinez, donated one of her works, “Tulare,” to the foundation’s Heart of Teaching annual campaign. It included a gallery at Music Hall at Fair Park. The campaign celebrates and recognizes Dallas ISD art teachers, and this year, more than 50 pieces are available for purchase.

Martinez’s piece was inspired by the Central Valley of California, where her family is from.

“My hope for the future of Dallas is that students will continue to participate in the arts and see how they can help enrich their city and continue to make this a thriving cultural spot for the arts,” Martinez says in the video.

Bids can still be placed here.
