The kick-off reception of the new Lakewood-area Women In Business group was last night at Professional Bank, the group’s sponsor. The non-dues paying group hopes to be a peer network for executive women, creating opportunties for women to share experiences and exchange strategies.
Darlene e-mailed me this morning with an update — at least 40 women showed up, and many commented on how "long overdue" the formation of the group was. "We had a little bit of everything" in terms of representation," Calvin noted. "It was just a neat, neat group."
Lakewood-area Women in Business will continue its monthly get-togethers (which include wine, hors d’oeuvres and door prizes), and an e-newsletter and mentoring program are in the works.
