The last thing we heard about the new Meso Maya on Mockingbird and Abrams was that it had been added to the list of participating DFW Restaurant Week venues. It turns out that might have been wishful thinking. According to an employee at the soon-to-open location, the restaurant has been waiting nearly a month for a new Certificate of Occupancy from the city, which they need to obtain before they can open.

Once the certificate is obtained an opening date will be announced. While they hope to have the certificate by the end of this week, but that’s no guarantee. Restaurant Week begins on Aug. 15.

The only other participating neighborhood restaurants are Clark Food & Wine and St. Martin’s Wine Bistro, both on Greenville Avenue.

Restaurant week, benefitting the North Texas Food Bank, is Aug. 15-21, but some restaurants extend their special menus for a week or two afterward. Participating restaurants offer three-course prix fixe dinners for either $35 or $45. Some also are offering a two-course lunch for $20 or a Central Market fourth course option.
