Looks like the Lakewood store is on track to open at the beginning of March, though there has not yet been an official announcement from the company. But that’s what I’m told store officials are telling employees and neighbors.
A little hyperlocal reporting from Dallas’ Only Daily Newspaper: Whole Foods hasn’t even received any inquiries yet about the lower Greenville store. Which really isn’t surprising, given the recession and the chain’s desire to rent it to someone that won’t be a competitor. That’s what Tim Hughes, who is handling the leasing, told me 15 months ago. Hughes also said that he hoped to have the building leased before the new store opened, but it looks like that won’t happen. I have a call in to him, and we’ll see if he calls me back.
