It was a big day for the White Rock YMCA, which until now has been operating out of a temporary location. After more than a year of construction, the White Rock YMCA opened in its permeant location in early April. Yesterday dozens of folks, from long-time members to congressmen, crowded the lobby area to help the White Rock YMCA celebrate.

Take a look back at the YMCA’s construction progress through these photos, and then watch our video of the facility during its final days of construction.

The White Rock YMCA is hoping to open the outdoor pool sometime in July. Online membership and program registration for the indoor facilities is available. Check out the White Rock YMCA’s youth, teen and adult programs online.

The YMCA is still within 85-90 percent of its fundraising goal of $14 million. You can track the progress on the White Rock YMCA website.

The Y is continuing its Click the Brick campaign. Starting at $1,500, community members can purchase a brick with their name on it. Each will receive a yard sign saying “I gave to my Y.” Go to the White Rock YMCA website to learn more.

The YMCA recently launched its 2015 Annual Campaign and quickly reached its goal of $200,000. The annual campaign goes towards providing memberships and other YMCA services for neighbors who can’t afford them. Learn more on the website.
