Administrative leaders of the hospital near White Rock Lake Park sent word to employees and physicians in a memo, saying the “reduction in force” was needed to reduce costs.

People in administrative and clinical positions across 28 departments were affected, according to a press release from White Rock Medical Center.

The hospital reported “significant losses” each month this year, despite investments in programs and technologies.

“Such operating losses cannot be sustained,” the leadership wrote.

In fall 2022, California-based Pipeline Health, which owns the White Rock facility, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas approved the company’s Chapter 11 plans in January 2023.

Pipeline has owned the facility since 2018.

The company launched a rebranding of the hospital in January 2022, renaming the facility and announcing investment in surgical technologies to improve the facilities and patient care, according to Jane Brust, the vice president for marketing and communications at Pipeline.
