Due to extreme confusion, I nearly washed my hands of the Little Forest Hills business located at 8939 San Benito Way — First it was Another Byte internet cafe and farmers market. I wrote a story about it, shortly after which I read on another blog that it closed. Then I called the owner who told me it wasn’t closed. Great! But then they closed. And reopened as The Red Cat Consignment. OK, I thought. Great place. Great people, yes. But not something I can keep up with.

But they’ve gone and done something I can’t ignore — they’ve got the legendary Dallas-originated reggae band Watusi playing this weekend. I am quite nostalgic about Watusi — they provided the soundtrack to many a wild weekend back in the mid-90s/ early 00’s (can I get a "yeah, mon!"?) and these days they are pretty renowned, as far as reggae goes, all over the world.

It’s all part of a "pre-Valentines bash tomorrow, Sat., Feb. 7. The hours of operation are 9 a.m.-6 p.m., with the "hoopla" occurring all day Saturday, but I don’t see anymore specific times in the e-mail that the owner sent out. I’ve sent her a message and will update when/ if I get something more specific. Otherwise you’ll need to head over there and simply check it out. Once you’re there, you’ll understand that "specific times" aren’t really part of the whole vibe anyway.

Listen to Watusi’s latest jam here.
