The valedictorians and salutatorians from the two Dallas ISD high schools in our East Dallas neighborhood have been announced.

These seniors, who graduated with the highest and second-highest ranks in their class, “embody an impressive breadth of knowledge and have shown exceptional academic prowess,” the district says on its news website.

Bryan Adams High School

  • Valedictorian: Jamie Espeleta, plans to study nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington
  • Salutatorian: Jennifer Cervantes, plans to study mathematics at Smith College

Woodrow Wilson High School 

  • Valedictorian: Chloe Serna, plans to pursue a pre-med track at Rice University
  • Salutatorian: Faith Frieling, plans to study economics and the University of Texas at Austin

Both Serna and Frieling were recipients of Juanita Craft scholarships from the Big Tex Scholarship Program.

A notable mention goes to Zoë Gameros, a Lakewood resident who was named valedictorian at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Gameros plans to study film production at the University of Texas at Austin.
