If you often drive through the Skillman-Live Oak shopping center, you might’ve noticed the banners announcing Excellence 24-Hour Emergency Room, coming soon to Lakewood.
The signs went up in May at the corner of Skillman and Oram, in the location that once housed Gallery Central, a custom framing store that had been there for 23 years before it was forced to move to the back of the shopping center in order to make room for Houndstooth in 2013 (which, by the way, didn’t want the location after all). Looks like Stonelake is combining the old East Dallas Developmental Center location as well to create a larger space.Â
Last we talked with Excellence, they planned to open in October but they were hoping to open sooner than that. The location hasn’t been touched so far, however.
When we reached out to Excellence for an update, the project coordinator Vanessa Madrid says they “received their permit last Friday from the City of Dallas and will begin construction within the next three weeks.”
Excellence ER-Lakewood now hopes to open sometime in November.
