A colorful Tex-Mex restaurant initially set to debut in late March is open on Henderson Avenue.
Uno Mas was in the soft-opening stage when restaurants had to close because of the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the eatery is open at 75 percent capacity for takeout, dine-in and patio service.
“We’re excited to be open again and serving Dallas, even though we never had a chance to officially open,” co-owner Brandon Luke said in a statement. “Our team feels fortunate that we were able to reopen our doors. We put a lot of hard work into this flavorful menu and hope Dallas will try us out, either in our dining room, on the patio or to go.”

Uno Mas is located at 2929 N. Henderson Ave. in the space formerly occupied by Sissy’s Southern Kitchen and Bar. The restaurant has a large menu with classics — such as fajitas, taco and enchiladas — along with unique eats like the queso fundido burger with ground chuck, chorizo and chipotle peppers topped with cactus rajas.
The eatery also offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the cauliflower fajitas.
The cocktail menu includes flavors from Mexico City, as well as the coastal and mountain regions. The star of the menu is the Ocho frozen margarita, a low-calorie drink with only 8 grams of sugar and 168 calories.
Guests are welcomed back with weeknight specials like Tequila Tuesdays with $5 margaritas all day and Ladies Night Wednesdays with happy hour all night for ladies. A complimentary appetizer is available for groups of four. Frontline workers with a badge will receive happy-hour pricing all day and receive their choice of free guacamole or queso on Tuesdays.
Uno Mas is following all CDC and Texas Department of Health guidelines for reopening restaurants, including the wearing of masks and gloves, health check-ins before every shift, thorough cleaning procedures, menu sanitization after every use and 6-foot social distancing inside the restaurant and on the patio.
Uno Mas is open from 4:30 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Friday, 1 p.m. to midnight Saturday and 1-10 p.m. Sunday.
