Two fires and a shooting took place in East Dallas this weekend.

Gaston Avenue fire 

Dallas Fire-Rescue units were called to a fire at the three-story residential complex at Gastonian Condos at the intersection of Gaston and North Carroll Avenues. before 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18. According to a WFAA report, the fire was seen on the third floor and spread to the roof. About 45-50 firefighters responded to the scene. It was almost 4 p.m. when the fire was out. People in the building were safely evacuated, and the Red Cross is expected to help those who are displaced. Two firefighters had to go to the hospital for minor issues. 

The cause of the fire is being investigated, The Dallas Morning News reports. 

Shooting 

An 18-year-old Santino Sereseroz was arrested and is facing charges related to a shooting that injured four people around 1 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 19 in the 900 block of North Haskell Avenue, according to a FOX4 report. Sereseroz was reportedly kicked out of an event center for fighting before firing shots across the street. At least two of the victims went to the hospital, and Sereseroz was arrested in connection with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges. Police determined that he had a stolen gun as well. The investigation is ongoing. 

An earlier report from FOX4 says two people were detained by police but does not identify who. 

RV fire

An older woman and her dog died in an RV fire after 6 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 19 near Casa View in the 10300 block of Eastwood Drive, according to a report by WFAA. The fire is being investigated as a homicide. Firefighters arrived on the scene and put out the RV fire that also damaged a home next to it. The residents of the home were not injured, but an older woman and her dog were found dead in the RV. The incident is being investigated as arson because surveillance footage captured video of a person getting out of a vehicle, carrying something and the fire starting up shortly after.
