Dallas ISD is home to many of the best elementary and middle schools in Texas, according to a new report from U.S. News and World Report. Scoring was almost entirely rooted in students’ performance on mathematics and reading/language arts state assessments.

- Sudie L. Williams Talented and Gifted Academy is ranked #6 in Texas Elementary SchoolsÂ
Sudie L. Williams Talented and Gifted Academy offers an innovative curriculum, a challenging academic environment, and a supportive community of teachers, staff, and parents specifically focused on growing and nurturing gifted students.
At Sudie L. Williams Talented and Gifted Academy, 95% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 87% scored at or above that level for reading.
- Lakewood Elementary School is ranked #27 in Texas Elementary Schools
Lakewood Elementary School is a unique blend of tradition and innovation. Lakewood’s influence and opportunities give children a solid base for success in life.
At Lakewood Elementary, 87% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 86% scored at or above that level for reading.
- Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy is ranked #9 in Texas Middle Schools
Longfellow Career Exploration Academy empowers students to excel in an evolving society through a challenging academic and collaborative environment that includes specialized courses, leadership development, enhancement of critical thinking skills, and career exploration.
At Henry W. Longfellow Career Exploration Academy, 93% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 87% scored at or above that level for reading.

- I’m proud to share that Dallas Hybrid Preparatory at Stephen J. Hay celebrated recently with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony. This new school model is not only going to be very successful for a lot of our students and families but will also serve as a model for new schools both within Dallas ISD and more broadly around the country.
