The city’s sanitation department will start picking up trash and recycling once a week starting in March, and they’ll both be picked up the same day. Because the trucks will be bigger, Old East Dallas and other neighborhoods with narrow alleys will switch from alley service to curb service.
There are two informational meetings about the change coming up in East Dallas. The first is at the Samuell Grand Recreation Center Saturday at 10 a.m. Another is at the Lakewood Branch Library Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m.
