Highland Park Cafeteria: 214.324.5000, 1200 N. Buckner. Order by Saturday, Dec. 22 to bring home a filling traditional holiday meal ($55.99 serves 2-4 people and $95.99 serves 8-10)—without having to cook it. Pies ($13.99-$18.99) are also available to order. The restaurant, located in Casa Linda Plaza, is open for diners Dec. 24, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Grape: 214.828.1981, 2808 Greenville. Reserve a spot for Christmas Eve dinner or New Year’s Eve dinner. Reservations start at 5 p.m. and the last seating on New Year’s Eve gets a free glass of champagne to toast in the new year. The Grape is also open for Sunday brunch and complimentary valet parking is always provided.

The Gin Mill: 214.824.3343, 1921 N. Henderson. Boxing Day brunch serves up Bloody Marys, potato pancakes, brioche French toast and more on Dec. 26 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The Gin Mill will also be open at 8 p.m. on Dec. 25. New Year’s seems to be the main event, though, with a masquerade party featuring DJs, champagne and party favors for $10. New Year’s Day, the eatery again serves brunch—items include chilaquiles and mimosas—at 11 a.m.

J. Black’s Feel Good Kitchen and Lounge: 214.613.2525, 2409 N. Henderson. J. Black’s welcomes reservations for dinner and drinks starting at 7 p.m. for a classy countdown. Individual tickets go for $20, though tables can also be reserved.

Central 214 and Hotel Palomar: Central 214, 214.443.9339, 5680 N. Central Expressway; Hotel Palomar, 888.253.9030, 5300 E. Mockingbird. Central 214’s New Year’s Eve dinner is a four-course prix fixe for $70 per person. Reservations run from 5-11 p.m. If you want to stick around after eating, there will be a flamenco guitarist, complimentary henna art, tarot card readings and a midnight toast. If you’d like to make a night and morning of it, the adjacent Hotel Palomar offers two special discounts. “Take the elevator home” gives you 25 percent off your hotel rate, and the “Cinderella” discount starts at $109 per night if you check in after 10 p.m.
