It’s the beginning of a new tradition: Gardenfest 2015, brought to you by Culture Nugget and Little D Markets. GardenFest 2015 is mixing local food, artistry, entertainment and beer. The event is on Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 7) from 3-9 p.m. at Garden Cafe/Munger Square Park at 5310 Junius. Entrance is $10. Click here for tickets.
Also during Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-7, admission to the Dallas Arboretum is significantly discounted to $5 per person, including admission to the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden. Labor Day weekend tickets must be purchased at the gate in order to receive the special offer. For a complete list of children’s activities and times, visit the activities page. On Monday, Sept. 7, guests are invited to Pecan Grove for special activities from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Activities will bring the Texas Storybook Flower Village to life, including a petting zoo, live music and a red, white and blue stroller parade with special prizes awarded. The Terrace Café will offer free popsicles on Monday. Discounted parking is available for $8 when purchased in advance online.
Capitol Pub is celebrating Labor Day all weekend long. From Sept. 4-7, enjoy barbeque brisket sandwiches ($8) and $1 off Texas draughts. The Gary Lee Cox Band kicks-off the festivities on Friday from 8 p.m. to midnight, and DJ Mike D takes the stage Sunday from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Get $2 Lone Star beers all day Sunday and Monday.
