OK weather gods, have mercy, for we have some exciting outdoor events in our fair neighborhood this weekend. For example, Taste of Greenville Ave is Saturday at the Granada — details here, and Walk & Wag and Run is Saturday morning at White Rock Lake. Check info on that here. For a running event with less fur and slobber, Hexter elementary is hosting a 5K, 1K and carnival, the Hexter Howl. And the fifth annual Sam’s Day will happen at Flag Pole Hill — more here.
UPDATE: And this just in — the Lakewood Heights Neighborhood Association picnic is also this Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Tietze Park, featuring a chili cook off, cookie bake off and pumpkin carving to name a few. More details here.
Indoors, you have the screening of Two Angry Moms — details here, and the Perkins School of Theology at SMU will host an Interfaith Dialogue led by Dr. Robert Hunt, Director of Global Theological Education at Perkins — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Prothro Hall at Perkins on the SMU campus. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Lunch is provided to registered participants. $12.
