On July 13, join La Vie Theaters, a nonprofit media company, as it debuts its film “The Truth Behind the Chords” and other works by Dallas filmmakers at an upscale screening event that is open to the public at 4:30 p.m. The event, which gives nod to 1930s Hollywood glamour, takes place at the Historical Aldredge Property, located at 5500 Swiss. The Creative Arts Center of Dallas (CAC) is hosting its second exhibit featuring self-taught artists from The Bridge, Dallas’ largest homeless service center. “From the Street” opened on June 26 and runs through August 17.  The exhibit will be in the school’s main building at 2360 Laughlin. Lakewood musician Matt Tolentino, who we wrote about in May, and his band the Singapore Slingers, is hosting a CD release party on Saturday, July 12 at 8:30 p.m. at Kessler Theater. After three years, the Singapore Slingers announce the arrival of their brand new CD, ‘The Frank Skinner Project.’ Dave Washburn’s Three Quarters Fast Dixieland Band will open for the orchestra.
