          Jason Jones owns two Dallas locations of DirectBuy, a private, members-only showroom and design center where members have access to wholesale prices on a number of home-related products.

 

          Out of all the 2004 purchases made by Dallas consumers, Jones says, the greatest number were in the “hardware and home improvement” category.

 

          Wonder what other types of merchandise had people pulling out their wallets for their home improvement projects? According to DirectBuy’s records, the top ten 2004 categories after home improvement and hardware are as follows, in reverse order from least to greatest:
