Brian C. Luscher brought home a shiny belt buckle and good ol’ Texas braggin’ rights after he won first place in the Teas Steak Cookoff in Hico last weekend. Luscher, who is chef and owner of the Grape on Greenville Avenue, won in the "celebrity chef division." It is the second year he has entered the contest, the proceeds from which go toward breast cancer research and a scholarship fund.

Luscher is putting the winning dish, a dry-aged prime ribeye, on the Grape’s specials menu this weekend.
