Though it’s slowing down traffic heading east on Mockingbird toward Abrams, I was happy to see large scraped-out gaps in the far right lane today, meaning the city is getting ready to fix the road. Every time it rains, that side of the street seems to sink down into a series of incredibly deep potholes. I’ve hit a few and was always surprised that I didn’t pop a tire, but I know plenty of people who have.

Maybe next the city will tackle westbound Mockingbird between Greenville and Central Expressway. I once received a call from a reader whose husband had hit a pothole there, immediately popped a tire, then was rear-ended by the vehicle behind him. Not fun.
