The Morning News reports that a small North Texas retailer wants to buy the Centennial on lower Greenville, as part of the latter’s bankruptcy reorganization. It’s part of a deal to purchase 13 other Centennial stores in Dallas and Tarrant counties.

Cheers Spirits and Liquor operates four stores, but owner Peter Kern told The Morning News that he isn’t fazed by the difficulties in running so new many stores in such a competitive market. The sale is contingent on approval by the bankruptcy court and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. If it closes, Kern expects the stores to reopen under the Cheers name later this month.
