This will be the second store for the Costa Rican specialty coffee shop, which started in Downtown Dallas. It’s expected to open at 2820 Elm St. next to Oni Ramen this summer, taking the place of the former Twisted Treats, a popsicle and ice cream store.

The coffee company was founded by Giuliana and Stefano Bernini. Their grandfather worked as a farmer in Costa Rica, gradually learning how to cultivate coffee.

The Berni Bean Coffee Co. sells a variety of espresso drinks, such as cappuccinos and mochas, along with teas, smoothies and cold brew. Plus, there are specialty drinks. The Berni Bean Latte is a cold drink with espresso and milk, topped with a banana and coconut froth. There’s also a cinnamon French toast latte, which is espresso and milk mixed with cinnamon, vanilla and maple.

Food items including bagels, toasts and pastries are also available.

And the store donates a portion of every purchase to rainforest conservation efforts.
