It was a nice piece of news that took a little of the sting out of tax season: Whole Foods Market planned to pay the sales tax on any item bought on April 15, the last day to file taxes without an extension. A news item ran last night on NBC, however, stating that the market chain has rescinded the offer. When I called the Whole Foods Market on Abrams to find out why, they said they had not heard that the offer had been rescinded and were still waiting for procedural instructions from the corporate office. We’ll stay with this story and keep you posted on developments.
