Lakewood Realtor Elizabeth Mast brought her keen sense of style to the retail world when she opened the clothing and gift boutique Talulah Belle on Abrams 15 years ago. Ten years later, she opened Hess, a neighboring home goods store known for its blooms of white hydrangeas, solidifying her trendy corner of the shopping center. While she eventually took the wall down between the two entities, they maintained separate business identities.
But soon, the businesses will be rebranded with a new location. Talulah and Hess will open next month at 5810 Live Oak, the corner establishment long held by DOT consignment shop. The side-by-side businesses on Abrams next to Zoe’s Kitchen will mark their last day on Aug. 28, with sales planned up until closing day.
“This will be the ‘formal’ coming together of both stores,” Mast says of the new location. “Our grand opening party will be the evening of Oct. 6. Everyone is invited.”
During the opening party, proceeds will benefit the SPCA. Mast chose that charity because it was a favorite of Jim Davis, who created DOT and ran its associated consignment store for terminally ill patients almost up until his death this summer.
