Stephanie Gray started the donation drive two weeks ago after a friend told her how her latest foster kids had arrived with their meager belongings in trash bags.

Gray asked her neighbors on social media to consider donating new or gently used suitcases to help the kids.

“It got a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be,” Gray said. “Every single day there’s another backpack or suitcase. My house is full.”

She delivers them to Community Partners of Dallas, an organization that provides abused children with basic needs.

Donations can be made until May 9 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 8500 Arturo Drive.
