Bring your pup to the Halal Guys this Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. when the Snackin’ Waggin’ will be ready to serve delicious doggie treats.

This Saturday from 4:30 to 6 p.m., there will be a Dallas ISD school supply drive at Tietze Park, hosted by Zac Duffy for Texas House of Representatives. Bring some school supplies and enjoy a free Kona Ice snow cone. You can also register to vote on site. See Dallas ISD’s school supply list here.

The Bathhouse Cultural Center will be wrapping up its run of “Women Playing Hamlet,” about a woman cast into an all female Hamlet in New York. Shows will run Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. with Sunday a matinee on Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15-$25.

On Monday, Aug. 28, head to Lower Greenville’s Mudsmith for a discussion of author Drew Magary’s book, “The Hike.” Magary has previously written the novel “The Postmortal” and for the sports blog Deadspin. The discussion will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

New York Times bestselling author Andrew Gross will be at the Half Price Books this Thursday at 7 p.m. to discuss and sign copies of his new historical thriller “The Saboteur.” Books will be available for purchase from the author.

Dallas ISD will be back to school on Monday, Aug. 28.
