The coffee shop chain is seeking a special exemption from the Board of Adjustments to modify the landscaping regulations and provide just 17 of the required 22 spaces. The landscaping would need to be tweaked to make room for the drive-thru window, according to applicant Jonathan Spencer of Littleton, Colo., who says his requests will “not have any adverse affects to the neighboring properties” in his request.

Considering how packed the other neighborhood Starbucks are, and how traffic backs up at the ones with drive-thru windows, it might be a hard sell for the Board of Adjustment.
