The Dallas United Crew (DUC) varsity men raced in the Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Mass last month. The regatta included 55 different races and is the world’s largest two-day rowing event. More than 11,000 athletes from around the globe competed in sequential races throughout the day, and are approximately fifteen seconds apart. The DUC Varsity Men’s 8 crew placed 21st out of 85 crews at the event. “This race is known for it’s winding course, bridges and treacherous turns,” said program director Steve Perry. Of the eight-member team, three are East Dallas residents: Hunter Adams (SEM), Anson Smith (Bishop Lynch) and Anders Ekstrom (Lakehill Prep).
