Society Bakery + Tea Room has cleared out of its space at 1926 Skillman St., and there are for-lease signs on the shop’s windows and on the curb at Skillman and Oram Streets.
After spending 20 years on Greenville Avenue, owners Roshi Muns and Emily Cassady planned to move Society to the Skillman Street location in 2023 and opened there by the beginning of 2024. An ending lease and goals to expand motivated the previous move, but it’s unclear why Society has cleared out of 1926 Skillman St. A website and Instagram page for the business didn’t include an announcement of the closure or a farewell message.
We sent an email asking questions to one of the owners but did not hear back.
In the past, Society Bakery + Tea Room appeared on Food Network, People Magazine and was voted amongst the Top 10 Cupcakes by The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Society also won Best Dessert this year and was third place for Best Bakery and Best Dessert in 2024 in the Lakewood/East Dallas Advocate‘s Best Of contest.
