Tomorrow, Sissy’s Southern Kitchen & Bar debuts their new lunch menu. A few lucky birds (read press) got to preview it today and the consensus is: yum.

Lunch will feature some of your favorites and some new items, and will be available Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m.—2 p.m. at the restaurant, located on 2929 Henderson. Some of my favorite dishes included the curry deviled eggs, the low country gumbo, the lump crab cake salad and best of all, Sissy’s mac & cheese.

“We don’t want lunch to get overly complicated,” says owner and executive chef Lisa Garza, highlighting the menu’s emphasis on signature sandwiches and salads. If you’re aching for Sissy’s famous fried chicken, you can still take some with you back to the office. Whether you’re dining in or out, plan ahead. You might want to make lunch reservations at 214.827.9900 and be prepared to wait on chicken to-go orders.

Garza credits chef de cuisine Chris Ostlund and general manager James Olivarez with the success of Sissy’s, which has been open since late February.

Right now, lunch entrees range from $13-$24, but prices might lower a bit. There may be some other changes coming. It sounds like Sissy’s might be getting ready to open a new location and add brunch to the menu.

Be sure to check out our October issue’s Delicious section, which will highlight Sissy’s among some other East Dallas Southern eateries.
