Composer and pianist Murray Hidary created the concept in which hikers wear wireless headphones and receive guidance, commentary and compositions from Hidary himself.

The hike will take place from 3-5 p.m. Aug. 11. Upon arrival, hikers will listen to a quick introduction and then begin their meditative stroll. Commentary and original compositions by Hidary will flood walkers’ ears, allowing them to relax and experience the garden in a trancelike state.

“All the components — music, words, silence, visual cues — work synergistically to help participants connect with themselves and the world around them,” Culture Map Dallas reported from the press release. “The evocative, improvisational piano music engenders a feeling of freedom and expansiveness that amplifies the healing and inspirational power of being in nature.”

This unique opportunity is just one of 30 stops on MindTravel’s summer tour, which began Tuesday at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.

Participants must pay a $2 admission fee, $5 for parking and register here.

Hikers should bring water, wear comfortable shoes and prepare for hot weather. MindTravel will provide headphones.
