5010 Junius Street in Munger Place has undergone a huge transformation over the past year! This home, built in 1912, is a hybrid of Prairie and Craftsman styles. This hybrid style is common in many Dallas’ historic residential neighborhoods, and 5010 Junius is one of the best examples of it. The original porch had been altered decades before, but many of the Prairie high-style windows and doors remained, as did the decorative door surround and Craftsman style rafter tails. Landmark Commission approved a new front and rear porch design, paint, and removal of a side door. Otherwise, no major changes were made to the structure’s exterior and most of the work was to stabilize and maintain the original features. Swipe for some great photos from before, during, and after the renovation!
