A man was shot after a verbal fight in East Dallas over the weekend.
Two men met around 4:15 p.m. April 10 at 820 N. Fitzhugh Ave., near Gaston Avenue. One man started to walk away, and then the two had a verbal argument.
One man shot the other man with a handgun, the Dallas Police Department said in a tweet.
The victim was sent to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses told the police the shooter ran to a nearby apartment.
SWAT was called and entered the residence, but the officers didn’t find the suspect there.
Authorities closed the streets until the scene was cleared.
