Here are some neighborhood school news nuggets for the week:

  • Woodrow Wilson High School is hosing an Open House later today, Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Read more.
  • J. L. Long Middle School is also hosting an Open House this week on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 6:15 p.m.
  • This weekend, on Nov. 20, is William Lipscomb Elementary‘s 6th Annual Silent Auction at Times Ten Cellars (6324 Prospect) from 6:30-9 p.m. All proceeds go to the kids at Lipscomb.
  • Stonewall Jackson is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit Wesley-Rankin Center in West Dallas. The deadline is Thursday, Nov. 20.
  • Apparently lice are in season. Dallas ISD asks that you check you child’s hair every few weeks to catch infestations early because children are no longer excluded from school if they have lice. Read more.
  • Register today for Parent Portal and become a partner in your child’s education.
