- Have you completed your DISD background check yet? It’s a requirement for all volunteers before they can work any school events or chaperone field trips. Click here.
- Lakewood Elementary sent out an email blast with these safety reminders: Don’t text and drive, especially before kids are safely at school. Kids are everywhere in the morning, so always be aware of kids crossing the street. Park in the correct direction along the road.
- Last week the bishop of the Diocese of Dallas, The Most Reverend Kevin Joseph Farrell, celebrated the first all-school Mass of the year at Bishop Lynch High School in East Dallas. During the event he announced the Bishop Lynch A Cappella Choir has accepted a special invitation from the Vatican to sing with the Sistine Chapel Choir for the Epiphany Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, on Jan. 6, 2017.
- Meet State Rep. Eric Johnson on Sept. 18 at 8:15 a.m. Join the Mata PTA in the school library for coffee and donuts to help thank Johnson for his work on the pre-K bill and other bills he voted on to support public education.
