Here’s a roundup of some interesting school news bites you might need to know for the upcoming week:

  • Woodrow Wilson High School is hosting a meeting for the Woodrow feeder pattern schools and community. “There are some vital changes coming that you can help make happen,” Woodrow says. The meeting is Wed., at 6:30 p.m. in the 3rd floor Woodrow cafeteria. Check out the WWCC Feeder Pattern Agenda for more information.
  • This week is Red Ribbon week, which is a national campaign against drugs, and East Dallas school Stonewall Jackson is participating in the daily activities. Each day students will wear things like their favorite spirit shirts, all red, or their craziest clothes to play along with the theme.
  • Mi Cocina Lakewood is hosting a Dine & Donate night on Wed., Oct. 23 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., when 15 percent of sales will go directly to the Lakewood Early Childhood PTA. Bring the entire family to support Lakewood schools. Take-out sales also count.
  • Lakewood Elementary needs volunteers for their Fall Festival event this Saturday, Oct. 26. From 3 t0 6 p.m., there will be activities like a student talent show, a pumpkin carving contest, a haunted house and hay rides. $5 per child.
  • The 5th annual William Lipscomb Elementary Art & Auction is right around the corner, on Thurs., Oct. 24 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Times Ten Cellars at 6324 Prospect.
