The Friends of the Santa Fe Trail have big plans for our strip of East Dallas concrete, which runs from near Fair Park to White Rock Lake. Read our story about their efforts to create amenities on the trail, in the October Advocate.
But before the nonprofit can make the Santa Fe Trail a little more like the Katy Trail, they need money.
That’s the point of the Santa Fe 5k, which is one big fitness party this Thursday, Oct. 11.
The run begins at 6:15 p.m. and ends at Lindsley Park, where there will be food trucks and free beer from Deep Ellum Brewery.
Registration costs $35 in advance and $40 on the day of the run.
The nonprofit also is seeking volunteers to help, starting at 4:30 p.m. on race day. To volunteer, email Soumya@mmwatson.com.
