After overwhelming support from the neighborhood, the Samuell-Grand shelter has closed to the 133 people who were staying there. The evacuees are heading to the Dallas Convention Center to centralize the services.

It is expected that over 1,000 more evacuees will be arriving in Dallas throughout the week from flooded regions of Louisianna, where Harvey continued to dump rain after ravaging the Texas coast. A blog post from the City of Dallas says, “The greatest need now is for monetary donations to the Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund. Donations to the fund will provide grants to individuals and families for basic housing assistance and necessities.”
