For the second time, the students and staff at Robert T. Hill Middle School in East Dallas partnered with the Salvation Army to make ensure that Dallas-area children and teens had a happy holiday this year.
The Hill Highlanders brought in gifts for a child or teen who had been impacted by devastating circumstances.
“Many of our students have difficult situations at home, but they understand the true meaning of giving is when you give out of your own need,” says librarian Maria Rodriguez.
“Embracing the school motto, Better Together, the students and staff brought gifts, put them in boxes decorated by students, library helpers and teachers.”
The school collected 247Â gifts, and Rodriguez took them to the Salvation Army.
“The students know that their gift will bring a smile to someone this holiday season,” she says.
