The idea was all customers who brought one school supply item received one free slice of cheese pizza with one additional topping.

During the event, GapCo collected five large boxes of school supplies, which went directly to the teachers at Ignacio Zaragoza Elementary in East Dallas.

In addition to supplies, GapCo also collected monetary donations from customers to purchase supplies that teachers and students will need at the beginning of the second semester of school. $187 was collected, and in January, that money will be given to Zaragoza and GAPC will match what was collected, for a total of $374.

The owner of Greenville Avenue Pizza Company, Sammy Mandell, and his wife, Molly Mandell, who is a former teacher at Zaragoza, are both products of Dallas Independent School District. The support shown at this event meant a lot to them, they say.
