Five neighborhood restaurants did not meet Consumer Health Division standards for food safety in the most recent inspection period from Jan. 13 to Feb. 15.
Restaurants that score 80 or above on a 100-point scale are considered compliant. Neighborhood restaurants that scored below that threshold are Waffle House, Urban Taco, Pie Tap, Fiesta Mart Taqueria and Jimmy John’s.
Inspection data showed a myriad of infractions from storing toxins next to food items and not washing hands before donning gloves. Those restaurants will have a follow-up inspection within 30 days.
