Runners taking part in next week’s 5K at Fair Park will have more to worry about than setting a new personal best.
The June 18 race will feature an obstacle course that will test the strength and balance of the participants. The track will feature hurdles like train tracks, fountains, walls, balance beams, dumpsters, tires and beat-up cars.
This is the fifth year Fair Park is hosting the Urban Dash 5K.
Participants can go at their own pace, choosing to walk or run the course and bypass obstacles that may be too challenging.
Registration is under way at www.fairparkurbandash.org. The fee is $55.
Event day registration opens 7 a.m. and the race kicks off at 8 a.m.
